Here at Little Steps, we value the safety, education, and development of the children who come to our centre. We do this by providing children with new experiences.

About Us

We are a family, founded, and operated early childhood education centre and after school care. Little Steps was built from a dream to provide genuine, quality care and education for children and families whose lifestyles have lead them to the decision to enroll in childcare. We understand that leaving your little one in group care is a huge decision. We want to make this easier for you by providing a loving environment where your child will thrive in both their learning and development. We look forward to meeting you and your families.

Facilities

Our facilities here at Little Steps are modern and spacious. The building is designed with designated areas for different age groups.

Separate rooms

Our centre is split into three rooms: Infants – Arewhana Room, Toddlers – Mokonui Room, and Pre-School – Tohorā Room.

This gives our infants a calm, slow-paced room, where they can play and learn in a safe environment. Our toddlers, who are getting more active, have their own space to run and play with resources that challenge and inspire them, but are safe for their age. Our preschool children also have a room catered to their age full of stimulating and challenging resources. In this room we will be helping children prepare for their upcoming transition to school.

Catering

We are a fully catered centre, therefore all meals are included in your fees. You can rest easy knowing your child is receiving a variety of healthy, age appropriate, meals and snacks while attending the centre; without the fuss of packing lunch boxes.

Outside play all year round:

We have 500 square metres of outside play area. We have three separate areas so your child can play in a safe environment, structured to their age and development.

Bigger Steps

We have a separate before and after school care programme in the same building as our childcare centre called Bigger Steps. We hope this makes it easier for families knowing we can continue to care for your children, in an environment they are already familiar with and people they are comfortable with.

Kiddie gym

In our Bigger Steps area we have a form of kiddie gym with equipment such as bars, beam, rings, mats and other soft fall equipment. Children can learn and practice skills for building their strength and body awareness. Our Little Steps children make regular excursions out to our kiddie gym.
